Disney Friday Night

So for Date Night we decided to go to Disneyland with Dax and my parents so I guess it wasn't really Date Night but it was still fun! Much more fun than dinner and a movie, but more tiring too :)
Dax's first Merry Go Round ride on a horse.
An uneasy look

In case you were wondering and have tried to find out the difference between a carousel and a merry go round, Matt and I just took a tour of the Barrango warehouse where they make christmas decorations and carousels. And according to Mr Barrango, a merry go round is made up of only horses. A carousel is made up of animals other than horses. For example they are currently making a carousel with ocean animals- dolphins, seals, sea horses, turtles, and it was super cool. Matt and I were once told that Carousels rotate one direction and merry go rounds the other. But Mr Barrango told us that those made in Europe go clockwise and those made in the US go counter-clockwise. So there you have it!
But interestingly...the one in disneyland we just noticed rotates counter-clockwise so it was made here, but the name says King Arthur's Carousel, yet it is made of all horses! Hmmmm.

How the Boys are Changing

Whoops!
Dax is getting close to not needing bottles anymore! He still likes them but sometimes would rather play with them and squeeze the nipple.Cute brothers holding hands watching a video
Trey doesn't only like baseball, I think he likes any sport with a ball!
Dribbling

Dax has started walking pushing toys! How exciting! He started it with Nonnie last weekend :)

OK...so, this is the best video I got, but the were a bunch of times Trey was hitting the ball but I didn't get them on video. He could get more pitches if we had a catcher. And it was too hard to be the catcher and the videographer. So I stopped. But he was probably making contact about 20% of the time. What a champ.

For Tara

OK Tara, this is or you. Although... I have a feeling all these blogs are just for you guys because I don't think anyone else reads them! :) I'll do my best but me memory is so bad I might have to make some up.
20 years ago: 1988. I was 10, just started 5th grade at Stoneybrooke Christian School (transferred from a public school because my mom got a teaching job there so we could attend for free). So probably had no friends yet. Had been playing bobby sox softball for 5 years by now, going to Coast Hills Church and getting HUGE candy bars every week in Sunday School!
10 years ago: 1998. 20 years old. Just transferred from Orange Coast Community College to APU. Was playing volleyball and living in my first apartment with my APU roomates. Having lots of fun! My body was the strongest it has ever been and I also weighed the most I ever have- 155lbs.
5 years ago: 2003. Married for 2 years. In my 2nd year of graduate school at Chapman. In school F/T, 5 days a week, studying all evening, going to bed late. Commuting 30+min each way. Matt would have dinner ready for me when I got home. In very bad shape physically, my neck hurt from looking down at my books so much and I had undiagnosed stomach ulcers from the stress. But also having fun! Studying and hanging out with my buddies Tricia, Maria, Sam, Cindy, and Amy. All day every day.
3 years ago: 2005. 5 months pregnant with Trey and working full time at Ocean PT. Past the morning sickness so probably just a little more tired than usual at the end of the day. Matt Im sure still had dinner ready when I got home these days. Loving being pregnant, probably just found out he was a boy so starting to make plans. Living in the B&C while it was being remodeled, and then we moved into our current place.
1 year ago: Sept 27, 2007. 9 Months pregnant with Dax, and 5 days away from delivering. Feeling very big, stretched, uncomfortable, and done being pregnant.
Today: Went to breakfast at Fisherman's Warf on the pier with Dax, Grammy, and Grandpa. Trey spent last night with Papa and Nana. Came home, gave the kids lunch, put them to bed, and we took a nap too! Now Matt is playing poker with his church buddies and Im just hangin. Probably do the blog then read until I cant keep my eyes open anymore (which could be by 9.)
Tomorrow: Early to church to set up by 8, go look at a house that went up for sale in our neighborhood but that is also way overpriced, then possibly to Joey and Elsa's for Sunday Family Night (which we haven't had almost all summer due to busy schedules!)
In 1 year: Sept 2009. Hopefully have a newborn, which would make us a family of 5! Hopefully live in our own house, on a cul-de-sac, with a big yard. Trey and Dax will be asleep and we will be up with the baby, keeping him (I mean "the baby") quiet and maybe watching The Office, Grey's Anatomy, or Prison Break.

Wow that took forever. Now Im either going to read How We Love by Milan and Kay Yerkovich, or watch Friends until my hubby comes home or until I fall asleep :)

Dax's 11 Month Pictures

Dax is more fun than ever. It just seems like he loves life. He always has such a big smile on his face when we get him up in the mornings and from his naps. He is now crawling normally, cruising all over the house, the furniture, the walls, our legs, he loves to eat, sleep, laugh and smile, chase Trey, open and close all the doors, dart outside, or into the bathroom to play in the toilet water or unroll the toilet paper, crawl all over us, and of course cuddle. If anything is happening he wants to be a part of it. Or if there is anything new to play with he wants it.
Here he is with something new and exciting!

Dax Loves Swinging

So apparently Dax loves to swing and we never knew it! I know we have put him in our own baby swing before but maybe it was a while ago. But now, he definitely loves it! We are at the park with our homegroup.

Here is Dax with his friend Aubrey from homegroup. She just turned 1. Future wife? We are accepting offers now so get yours in asap!

The Water Slide

This is our new water slide! I bought it for Dax's birthday party but we wanted to try it out first so we had it up for 5 days and the kids loved it. I found it on craigslist for 150 bucks, which I think was a great deal since for Trey's b-day we spent $60 on a bounce house and only had it for a few hours. We should be able to use this for hopefully at least a few years.
It is really cool. If we just let the little sprinklers spray water on it then Trey goes down pretty slow. But....... if we run the hose from the top and the slide is really wet, he shoots down super fast, gets dumped into the pool at the bottom, his body is slammed against the side of the pool, then he stands up looking like "whoa, what just happened", gets a huge smile on his face, laughs and runs back up to do it again.
But this video is only when the slide is pretty dry I think. I'll try to get a better one next time.

The Boys Playing Together

This is an example of how a 2 1/2 year old plays with an 11 month old. Cute.

Spaghetti

Matt just left for Arizona, so what does that mean? It means we eat spaghetti? No...... It means I blog! For some reason when he is here I am busy doing stuff. And when he is gone I have all this extra time! Im not sure why that happens, but it does.

So this is just a fun picture of Dax having his first spaghetti dinner. He liked it.
