Road Trip(June 14-20) - Sacramento

We left at 4am for Sacramento to our friend's the Caldwells, for their graduation party (they graduated with their PhD's!!! WOW!). We stayed with them 2 days, then we all went camping in the Redwoods for 2 days, then our family headed back down but stopped in Santa Barbara for 2 days before coming home!

Adeline (7 months) and Dax (8 months) being pulled in the trailer while we took a bike ride near the Caldwell's home in West Sac.
Dax fell asleep on Addie...oooohh, how cuuuuute!

While we were there we visited the Train Museum which was probably Trey's Best Time of His Life!!! He LOVED it and couldn't stop talking about it. And when we left he cried.

Potty Training Again ??

So once again, after being with Alexis for a week, Trey quickly picked up potty training again. And as much as I wanted to hold him back, dreading what it would be like on our road trip coming up, I decided I should let him do it if he is so excited about it. So all week after the Arreguins left, Trey was going pee pee and a couple poo poos in the potty all day long and wearing underwear or he went naked around the house. I kept him in diapers for naps and nighttime because I didn't want to fully potty train him and risk him not wanting to wear diapers on the road trip. Can you imagine going on a road trip up to Sacramento and stopping every hour to go potty, and most likely changing wet clothes when he had accidents!? I had no desire to do that so we decided to just let him do both (potty and diaper) until after the road trip.

He always wants to watch it go in.
(I guess all kids probably do this but this is the first time I have ever seen it, so I don't know!)

He mostly likes to use the "big potty" but sometimes will go on the "little potty"
HOORAY!!!!!

And of course I made sure Daddy taught him how to pee on trees so it would be easier when we went camping!! Good thinkin Mommy!HOORAY!!!

The Arreguins in California

3 Days after we left the Arreguins in Arizona, they came and stayed with us in California for a week! Yay! More fun! On the ferry at BalboaThe ferris wheel in Balboa
On the pier in Newport. Poor Jen, I had to work that day so I missed most of the fun. :(

First time to have popsicles! I bought the molds and blended up some strawberries, and when it was time to eat 'em, Mommy realized they are probably a little bigger than they should be!

Alexis (6 mo) and Trey (2 mo)

After taking this picture, and wondering why Dax was looking down at us and Gabi was looking up, we realized it was because Dax has a huge head behind his face that acts like a pillow pushing him forward, and Gabi has a flat head so she had to struggle to see us standing at her feet! :)

A cave down in laguna beach. This is the first time I have seen Trey climb something big.

Both kids were so excited to play smashball and they actually did really well!

Potty Training ???

As soon as we got home from Arizona, after Trey had been watching Alexis go potty on the toilet for 5 days, Trey decided he wanted to too! So even though Mommy had planned on doing potty training later, had bought a "Potty Train your Child in One Day" book, had bought the Potty Paul doll for Trey to teach, had planned on having a potty party day with games and snacks and decorations, (the list goes on!)....Mommy decided Trey might just learn best by example and she shouldn't stop him if he really wants to do it. So here he is!

The Sathers in Arizona

At the end of May we spent 5 days in Arizona with our friends the Arreguins for Alex's birthday. The weather was actually really nice, Dax got to play with Gabriela and Trey got to play with Alexis, and the mommies got to watch all the kids while the daddies went out and played golf, basketball, and lots of other things on their own. (Just kidding Alex!) :)

Trey and Alexis had a lot of fun together. There was a lot of crying though because Trey would be too rough with her, she would cry, and then Trey would cry because he was in a time-out. I think he probably had 20 time-outs on this trip!

The Arreguins live in a super cool community in Arizona where they have a waterpark.
Trey LOVED it!

This is Gabriela. She basically lives in her bumbo seat! So content!
