On Friday May 16th, we got home from having dinner in Laguna Beach with our friends the Nobles, we got the kids in bed, unpacked the cars, sat down on the couch to relax, and I hear Matt say "OH MY GOSH!!! Jen come here you have to see this!" And we saw what you see in the first picture below!
We have no idea how it happened, and she's not acting like she's in pain, but obviously its a big deal so we take her to Urgent Care in MV. They tell us she needs stitches and it will probably cost about 200 bucks. Two hours later we are on our way back home and Stella still has this huge hole in her side. The vet told us she had 3 other surgeries that took priority over Stella and we could either leave her there overnight, or take her home and bring her to our vet in the morning. So to save a huge amount of money we bring her home with a collar and T-shirt on.
The next morning we take her to a clinic to get it fixed. $1200 later, after having surgery under general anesthesia, and $70 antibiotics, we bring her home totally doped up and looking like the picture below.
Two days later she is acting normal again but still looks like this!
After searching around our whole yard, Matt figures out how she got the injury! We think she must have run under the trampoline and rubbed up against one of the screws that sticks out that are there to secure the trampoline enclosure. We felt so bad. The next day she was sniffing around that area so we are pretty sure that is what happened. Poor girl... dumb humans.
